Dr. Mahmoud Issa is a senior researcher in the Information Department of the Danish Refugee Council in Copenhagen, and is affiliated with the Carsten Nieburh Institute, Copenhagen University. He is also a Counselor and Senior Researcher working with the Palestinian Right of Return Campaign. He is the author of "Lubya: A Palestinian Village in the Middle East - Historiography, Culture and Identity". Issa's parents lost all their belongings and properties after being forced to flee by foot to Lebanon where he was born in the squalor of a typhoid-ridden refugee camp. After spending decades unable to return to Lubya, Issa moved to Copenhagen with his parents.
